Today there are some things that are like the racism toward black people in the 1920's. This modern day event started on the day of 9/11 and this hatred is towards people of the middle east. This common day event is like the racism but not nearly as bad as it was in the 1920's. But the common day issue has brought on some very unfair stereotype on the people of the middle east even though it was because of one group. This stereotypes were a caused by terrorists. Our government did take action on this issue in the wrong way we played the blame game and invaded Iraq and for a while they searched every middle eastern person as if they were terrorists. This issue has some what stop but the war in Iraq is over but the stereotype are still there. But it isn't that bad that people don't get hired because of race or background. If Hollywood were to make a movie of the freedom riders documentary it would be very interesting. Because of advances in computers and technology I think the movie could be very good. They have done things like this before. I know this because before movies some time say in the opening credits and in the trailers it says "based on a true story." If they had good effects, got all of the facts right and good actors/producers. I think that movie would be respectable. They would need to know all the verbal abuse and unfair treatment and to get the difference between in the North and South in the treatment of black people.

I think it is very important for parents in 2012 to "parent" their children. The parenting is a very important thing for your children. When you are young if you do not learn right from wrong you will never know how to behave. You will act and speak the same around adults as you are around your friends which is without manners. You know what i am talking about, you know who the parents that didn't "parent." These kids back talk to people they don't know and don't give adults the respect they deserve. These are the kids that have no work ethnic they do as little as possible when they are working and they always have a reason they can't do something. When I am older I am going to be a strict parent when it comes to manners and school. Because by me being strict it will teach the kids what is good and bad. I will help him to have good work ethnics at his or her job. Parenting is very important for children, letting kids run around without supervision and letting them make their own mistakes is a bad idea. What if it is a very bad mistake like in "To Kill A Mockingbird" when Mr. Nathan Radley shot at Jem that is not a mistake i want my kids to learn by themselves. That is a mistake that could have killed them. Even though nowadays people aren't racist and don't shoot at people near their houses. I could be a mistake like not looking when they cross a street and get hit by a car. But everyone in the world has a different opinion on "parenting" and whether or not you want to parent you child is up to you. But for me I believe that parenting is a very important thing that many people aren't doing which is causing kids to misbehave. That is why I think that it is important for Parents in 2012 to "parent" there kids. because it teaches them manners as in how to behave around others and work ethnics as in how hard you work and weather or not you follow directions closely. That is why parenting is important.

To help understand race-relations in America today, it's important to look back on our history. But today is very different then it used to be in America. Today race-relations are very good. Everyone in America has a equal chance to succeed. There is no segregation just stereotypes. My own experience with race-relations started on 9/11. Since then the somewhat segregation and harsh stereotypes have plagued people from the middle east. The segregation is nothing like it was in the 30's or the 60's. No matter what color, race, or religion you are you still have the same rights as everyone else in America. Everyone has an equal chance of getting a job. The only reason someone would get a job over someone else is if they were better qualified not because of their ethnicity. In our school there are good race relations. Everyone is treated equally. Nowadays being racist is a crime and it's not cool to be a racist. People don't use racial slurs when they speak to other people. Racial slurs today are used primarily out of anger not to stereotype people as they were in the 30s. Back then racial slurs were used commonly and only offended the people who were a target of the slurs. Today, everyone is offended by racial slurs. Everyone today is offended because everyone is taught at a young age that racial slurs are wrong, very offensive, and can be very hurtful. In conclusion I think that are race-relation will be good for a very very long time.
