To help understand race-relations in America today, it's important to look back on our history. But today is very different then it used to be in America. Today race-relations are very good. Everyone in America has a equal chance to succeed. There is no segregation just stereotypes. My own experience with race-relations started on 9/11. Since then the somewhat segregation and harsh stereotypes have plagued people from the middle east. The segregation is nothing like it was in the 30's or the 60's. No matter what color, race, or religion you are you still have the same rights as everyone else in America. Everyone has an equal chance of getting a job. The only reason someone would get a job over someone else is if they were better qualified not because of their ethnicity. In our school there are good race relations. Everyone is treated equally. Nowadays being racist is a crime and it's not cool to be a racist. People don't use racial slurs when they speak to other people. Racial slurs today are used primarily out of anger not to stereotype people as they were in the 30s. Back then racial slurs were used commonly and only offended the people who were a target of the slurs. Today, everyone is offended by racial slurs. Everyone today is offended because everyone is taught at a young age that racial slurs are wrong, very offensive, and can be very hurtful. In conclusion I think that are race-relation will be good for a very very long time.
